Mac Cro Knit Club

"Macrame, Crochet, Knit"

Hobbies with a beautiful outcome!

Our club is open to members and their invited guests.  We welcome visitors with valid SCW Rec Cards. Come join us on Tuesdays between 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. and Thursday’s between 8:00 a.m – 12 p.m. and on Thursday can go to 4 p.m.  Members enjoy getting together to socialize, macramé, knit, crochet, tat, etc.  We also ‘show and tell’ our completed projects, which gives us ideas.   If a member has a problem with their project, there is always someone to help.  We have classes to teach knitting, crochet or special projects/techniques.

Members  knit and crochet for many charity projects with donated yarn.  Club members create afghans, hats, and booties for veterans.  Baby hats, booties, baby afghans and bed shawls for Del Webb Hospital.  Warm winter hats for school children.  Scarves, hats for the homeless in downtown Phoenix.  “Friendship Bags”, which we fill with toiletries and donate to abused women’s shelters.  The Fire and Police Department hand out our crocheted\knitted Blankets to children in need for Linus Project. The club’s newest project is to make “Treasure Bags” for the children at these shelters, and place toys, books, paper, pens, pencils, socks inside as a surprise for the children who receive them.
